Railway

Thanks to continuous technological developments in the composite materials sector, we have been able to witness an evolution in the production techniques of trains and / or components intended for installation on railway traction vehicles. Starting from the need to reduce the overall weight of the trains, so as to increase the specific efficiency of the vehicle, increasingly broad applications have been sought for the use of composite materials.

Safety

In most cases, these solutions have been developed to meet the needs of primary and secondary structural components, offering high-performance standards in terms of strength, reduced weight, and outstanding fire resistance—key factors for delivering reliable, efficient, and safe railway systems.

In every development, the safeguarding of human lives remains a decisive factor, and any further advancements must contribute to an overall increase in safety levels.

Further Applications

Some applications carried out have concerned non-structural accessory parts, such as for example closing panels of technical compartments with positioning inside or outside the primary structure; another example involved the construction of specific electrical transformers for railway use entirely produced with insulating materials with extreme flame resistance characteristics.

Other interesting applications for structural accessory parts involved the study of fiberglass suspensions, freight wagon trolleys entirely in fiberglass, so as to be able to reduce noise and environmental pollution by increasing the efficiency of the system.

Research & Development

In order to achieve important results, such as obtaining multiple European certifications according to the reference standard EN 45545, we have used many internal and external resources in our Research and Development department.
