Energy
The modern world increasingly requires that the energy produced on a site can be transported, accumulated and transformed so that all civil, industrial, etc. requests are met.
Electric transformers are fundamental in this area and, through various construction technologies, allow energy to be transformed. For example at production plants, on board trains, at the service of photovoltaic and wind farms, etc…Applications rapidly spreading throughout the world.
In all the applications listed above, the possibility of using composite materials makes it possible to create increasingly large and increasingly performing products and while keeping the focus on the primary needs of users and designers.

Cast resin transformers
In the Cast Resin Transformers sector, the use of a glass fiber mesh impregnated with epoxy resin and completely polymerized allows the cast resin, once hardened, not to be subject to cracking phenomena due to the normal thermal expansion generated by the operation of the transformer same. These characteristics have allowed to increase the performances of reliability, safety and reduction of maintenance costs.
Solutions
Fiberglass mesh plays a key role in the production of resin columns for dry-type transformers. Once applied to the form tube, it provides a stable base for conductor winding and ensures a consistent layer of insulating resin—both inside and out.
When used in areas with a high concentration of resin, the mesh reinforces the coil structure and helps prevent or delay cracking caused by thermal stress. This added durability can be verified through specific thermal shock tests, confirming the mesh’s contribution to long-term reliability and safety.
Dry Type
In the context of Dry-Type Transformers, the construction approach typically involves the strategic spacing of conductive elements using electrical insulators and specialized conductor separation techniques. Our Pre-Preg materials and molded laminates are extensively utilized in these systems due to their high dielectric performance and mechanical reliability.
Representative applications include the layering of alternating insulation with wound aluminum or copper foil, as well as the fabrication of spacer cylinders designed to enhance the insulation class and thermal performance of the transformer assembly.
